Well, as 2022 comes to a close, this also means HB 4535 died in the Senate like hundreds of other pieces of introduced legislation. The question now will be: do we push forward again?
MISORVA has seen members not renew due to HB 4535 and far more who joined in support of HB 4535. Some rejoiced at the announcement, and others were troubled by the thought of another year of gouged trails and dangerous situations. This legislation divided friends and even families. Some were vehemently against it, and others felt it was a necessity for their safety and the safety of their friends and family.
This legislation was introduced after a vote from the MISORVA BOD members. The people from around the state who chose to come together and give back! They attend meetings and gather information in an attempt to keep all of us riding in the snow and in the dirt. Not because they are heroes, not because they have nothing better to do, but because they see a need and want to help.
MISORVA is directed by the decisions derived from the BOD. Not me, the Director, not the President or other officers, but in a democracy of voting amongst the Board of Directors. Together we discuss the pitfalls and victories of motorized recreation!
My position as Director and that of the officers is to execute the decision of the directors, so whether you agree or disagree, let your BOD members know your thoughts.
This topic will come up again soon and will be put to a vote to support or deny. What are your thoughts?
