Groomer Report

Trail Report: 03-27-2023  Current trail conditions are FAIR .  We received 10-12″ of heavy snow on Saturday March 25. There was very little base left on the trails. The club was not able to groom the heavy snow because it would just ball up in the drag. Sunday it got to 40+ degrees so we were again unable to groom. I rode Saturday after noon and the trails where great. I rode again on Sunday and the snow was better but was quickly melting away with many sand spots doubling in size. The forecast calls for warm temps 38 deg+ each day all week. Snow it is out there for another day or so. Expect lots of snirt, dirt by the road crossings, sand on the power lines. Please be careful stay on trail. We will not be grooming the rest of the season. Thanks, Steve Haver – GTASC groomer
Trail Report: 03-09-2023  Current trail conditions are questionable at best. There is not much base, snow it is out there as long as it stays cold, lots of snirt, dirt by the road crossings, sand on the power lines. Please be careful stay on trail. We will not be grooming until we get more snow. Thanks, Steve Haver – GTASC groomer
Trail Report: 02-23-2023  Current trail conditions are good. We received about 5″-6″ of snow. I rode the trails today and they icy underneath and you can feel it with the ski’s. It started freezing rain around 1 pm and it really messed up the helmet visors. Tonight it is lightly snowing and the freezing rain is gone.  We will begin grooming again on Friday. We still need more snow. Thanks, Steve Haver – GTASC groomer
Trail Report: 02-22-2023  Current trail conditions are poor but getting better  There is snow in the forecast, anywhere from 12″-24″ expected…we shall see. Currently there is 3″ of snow and it is lightly snowing this morning. I still say the trails are in pour condition until we start grooming. The tractors have not been able to be run on the trails over 22 days now. Groomers are good to go, we just need the snow.
Thanks, Steve Haver – GTASC groomer
Trail Report: 02-16-2023  Current trail conditions are poor   The rain and warm temps took out most of the snow on the trails from the looks of it we just have a ice layer. If you are out riding please ride safe, respect other riders, and stay on the trail. There is snow in the forecast, anywhere from 3-9″ expected. Snow is supposed to start today and go until Friday morning. It is currently 28 degrees and no snow at 11am. Hope fully we get enough snow to groom. Groomers have not been able to be run on the trails over 16 days. Thanks, Steve Haver – GTASC groomer
Trail Report: 02-10-2023  Current trail conditions are marginal   It rained and snowed on and off all day yesterday. We got some snow last night maybe 2-3 at most and it was wet and heavy. Both groomers are fixed but we have not groomed all week and we not be grooming this weekend either. The Trails should be snow covered Saturday morning but after that who knows. We are supposed to have temps in the 40’s all week and sunny conditions. Sorry folks we keep trying. Thanks, Steve Haver – GTASC groomer
Trail Report: 02-6-2023  Current trail conditions are marginal to good This weekend was good for sledding and the trail had enough snow for good riding. I rode around 120 miles on the trails this weekend. The trails are a mix and the snow is thin – some snirty corners, lots of leaves, and there are some really good sections as well. The weather is warming up today thru Thursday. Some rain is in the forecast on Tuesday. Snow is possible for Friday and We need it. Grooming will be held off until Friday. We are still currently down one groomer. It has a hydraulic leak and it is bad enough it needs to wait for a repair from a tractor mechanic. We will stay on top of the trails the best we can.
Thanks, Steve Haver – GTASC groomer
Trail Report: 02-3-2023  Current trail conditions are good We got some snow this week and more on Thursday and Friday. We started grooming again on Monday. The trails should be in good shape for this weekend but the snow is still thin and the corners might be icy. Thanks, Steve Haver – GTASC groomer
Trail Report: 01-21-2023  Current trail conditions are poor/icy. We got some snow on Thursday. It was the wet heavy stuff and on Friday it was ice-snow. Most of the trails are snow covered but it is thin snow over ice and it is only 2 inches deep. We are still not grooming until we get more snow. I have seen a few Sled tracks at the road crossings so people are out doing a little riding. I will post updated information on Wednesday Jan 25th if anything changes. Thanks, Steve Haver – GTASC groomer
Trail Report: 01-9-2023  Current trail conditions are poor/un-ridable with a sled. Most of the trail is sand and ice. Where there is snow it is only inches deep. We are not grooming until we get another good dumping of snow.  Thanks, Steve Haver – GTASC groomer
